Paving Operations to Begin on Largest Street Improvement Project in City History

The City of Grover Beach is pleased to announce that preliminary work for the current street repair project is now complete on a number of streets. Comprised of 53 blocks, this is the largest single street improvement project undertaken in the City’s history.

The necessary preliminary work included upgrading corner ramps to meet ADA requirements, upgrading water, sewer, and gas utilities buried in the streets, and lowering existing utility access covers and sewer manholes.

The City is expecting to begin paving operations on Monday, November 20 with grinding to remove existing pavement. This work begins on South 8th Street from W. Grand Avenue to Farroll Road before shifting to other streets - please see the map of streets being rehabilitated in this current phase on the link below, "City Announcement - Thurs, November 9, 2017".

Upon completion of this project, the City will have expended 27% of the total $48 million in bonds approved by voters in November 2014 with the passage of Measure K-14. Additional streets will be included in future projects.
