The Council awarded a
construction contract for the next Measure K-14 street project on South 16th
Street from Grand Avenue to The Pike to continue improving city streets.
The Council also approved professional services agreements to begin work on a
Senior Center Feasibility Study and Water Main Project Design and authorized
staff to apply for SB 2 Planning Grant funds to help accelerate housing
The Council also heard an update on economic development
activities and directed staff to develop a partnership with the Chamber on
business recruitment and marketing, create a grant program to help business
make signage and façade improvements, and enhance citywide communication and branding
Lastly, the Council selected Mayor Jeff Lee to serve as a
representative on the Monterey Bay Community Power Board with the City’s
participation in the Community Choice Energy program.
