Thank you for visiting the website for the Fire Department - Code Enforcement Division for the City of Grover Beach. Complaints are usually handled in the order they are received. It may take two to three weeks before an inspection is conducted, depending on the number of complaints currently on file and the nature of your complaint. Issues regarding health and safety take precedence over all other complaints and are investigated as soon as possible. Clearing a violation may take 90 - 120 days, depending on the level of voluntary action on the part of the violator. Every attempt is made to work in partnership with the property owner to gain voluntary compliance prior to moving on to the citation process.

If you have any questions regarding the Code Enforcement program, please call the Fire Department, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or send an e-mail to codeenforcement@grover.org.

Code Enforcement - Complaint Form

Confidentiality: The Fire Department’s confidentiality policy is based on the State of California Public Records Act. Enforcement records are public records. However, a complainant may submit their information to a public body in confidence and, as such, any complaint that is filed as “privileged and confidential” may be exempt from disclosure to the extent permitted by law. However, notes in a file or a complaint letter that is not specifically identified as “confidential” may be disclosed. The City must also disclose the complainant’s name if that person will be called as a witness in an enforcement case – the “right to cross examination” requires this provision.
