Parks, Recreation & Beautification CommissionMeetings of the Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission are open to the public. Regular meetings are held in the Council Chambers, Grover Beach City Hall, 154 S. Eighth Street at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. To see the most current Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission agenda, go to: Agendas and click on the words [Agenda-Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission]WHAT IS THE PARKS, RECREATION & BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION?Established by Ordinance in 2005, the City Council combined the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Grover Beautiful Committee to form the Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission. This Commission is a body of five citizens who are empowered by the City Council to be its advisory body on parks and recreation functions, beautification efforts, and City-sponsored special events. Members serve for a four-year term with term expirations occuring at staggered intervals. Serving on the Commission is a volunteer position. MISSION STATEMENTThe Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission is a forward looking, progressive, advisory body which provides recommendations to the City Council and Parks and Recreation Department regarding issues involving parks, recreation, City-sponsored special events, and beautification efforts. It also provides a forum for citizen input.
