- Stage II Water Shortage Declared - As of June 2007, the City received only 44 percent of the anticipated normal rainfall for the season. That rainfall amount triggered the City Council's authorization of a Stage I alert on June 18, 2007 pursuant to the 2005 Urban Water Management Plan. With annual rainfall less than 65 percent of normal for the two-year period from June 2007 - June 2009, on July 20, 2009 the City declared a Stage II Water Shortage, our citizens are requested to voluntarily reduce water consumption. It’s important to be aware that the water supply for our residents, businesses, and new developments is in limited supply. Water conservation is the most cost-effective and environmentally sound way to reduce our demand for water.

- Permits By Fax The Building and Safety Program in the Community Development Department introduced a new system of permitting known as "Permits By Fax" for the following types of improvements: Water Heater replacements, Re-Roof with same or equal material, Electrical service replacement in the same location less than 200 amperes, Temporary power pole, and Window Replacement with opening not greater than 10 feet.
This system is designed to help ease the permitting process by allowing contractors and homeowners the opportunity to submit construction applications via fax. This program will eliminate the need for multiple visits to City Hall to permit a "simple" project. Click Permit Form to download the Permit by Fax form in PDF format.
