2nd Annual Thanksgiving Thankfulness Competition

This was the 2nd Annual Virtual Thanksgiving Thankfulness Competition for residents of Grover Beach!  Submissions were made via email for residents to share what they were most thankful for this season. The prizes for winners included: a turkey meal from Von's for first prize, a  pineapple upside down cake from Spoon Trade for second place, and an apple pie from Von's for third place. 

We are excited to announce the winners for 2022:

1st place: Ashley 
"This season I am thankful for the wealth of love and health within my family. I am thankful for this beautiful place where we live. The clean air we breathe, the sights we see, and the picture perfect sunsets we get to witness daily. I am thankful for family, friends, and my faith.  Thank you for putting this together for the community!"

2nd place: Marsha
"So what I am grateful for, you want to know, 
As holidays approach, Grover brings in Snow. 
The bands, the floats, and kids in tow, The parade brings Santa who waves Hello! 
And Santa's workshop brings on cheers, 
Plus, there's loud applause for the Citizen of the Year. 
As night comes in, we gather right before dark, 
to light the tree at Ramona Garden Park. 
The Dune Run, Carved pumpkin, Stone Soup and other festivities 
Homes and businesses decorated with lights and nativities. 
For all of the celebrations you see above. 
These are the events our family truly loves."

3rd place: Tina
"I'm thankful for my grandpa. He just underwent heart surgery, and I'm beyond thankful for the doctors and nurses. I'm thankful to be with him for another Thanksgiving."
