The City of Grover Beach is preparing to remove a decades-old large Monterey Cypress tree in Ramona Garden Park due to the poor health of the tree.

The City recently retained a certified arborist to assess the condition of the tree and opportunities to extend the tree's life. The arborist concluded the condition of the tree will likely lead to substantial failures, including falling tree limbs. The tree presents a public safety hazard and needs to be removed.
