The City of Grover Beach is carefully monitoring the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic and following the direction of the County Public Health Department. Public health and safety is a top priority for all of us and though there are no confirmed cases of the virus yet in San Luis Obispo County, the County considers this a serious public health concern given the spread of the virus around the world.
The City is following the guidance of the State and County in cancelling or postponing events or meetings with 250 or more people and ensuring that events or meetings with fewer than 250 individuals have appropriate “social distancing” provisions. The City is also cancelling recreation classes including the Tiny Tots preschool enrichment program along with facility rentals between March 16-27 out of an abundance of caution with the COVID-19 virus. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to resuming our programming and facility usage soon. We will provide more updates as this situation continues.
County Public Health is ready to protect the community from COVID-19, but we all need to work together to prevent the spread of this and other viruses. We are asking residents to take everyday precautions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, like the flu and coronavirus:
* Wash your hands often
* avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
* cover your cough or sneeze
* avoid close contact with people who are sick
* stay home when you are sick.
