The Grover Beach Police Department is hosting its annual National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 16th Street Park. The free event is open to all community members.

“Our staff looks forward to this event every year,” said John Peters, Grover Beach Chief of Police. “It’s exciting to create a space where the community and police officers can connect on a personal level in a fun, enjoyable environment.”

Grover Beach joins neighborhoods across the country to celebrate National Night Out on the first Tuesday of August every year. This tradition is centered around building relationships between police and the communities they serve to make their neighborhoods a safer and more caring place to live. The Grover Beach Police Department has hosted festivities for the Grover Beach community on National Night Out for several years.

This year’s event will feature food trucks, music, children’s activities and exhibits, face painting, raffles, police and fire demonstrations and kickball with a cop! Most importantly, residents will have the opportunity to get to know our dedicated public safety officers.

“Each year, National Night Out brings a true sense of community to Grover Beach,” said Grover Beach City Manager Matthew Bronson. “It’s wonderful to see families, neighbors and colleagues enjoy this community-building event and get to know more about the great work GBPD does to keep us safe.”
