Upcoming Fall Events in Grover Beach!

GB - Fall Events

The City of Grover Beach Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to a season of fun fall activities! From running over the dunes to a pumpkin carving contest, everyone can get in the fall spirit.

“The Parks and Recreation staff have been working hard to make this fall the best one yet,” said Parks and Recreation Director Kathy Petker. “As we head into the holiday season, we love to take this opportunity to bring the Grover Beach community together with a wide range of events all of our residents can enjoy.”

Community members and visitors of all ages can kick off the season by enjoying a run or walk over the scenic boardwalk and beach on September 18 for the 33rd Annual Dune Run and Walk Event. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Beach Plaza next to Fin’s Restaurant, and the race starts on the beach at 9 a.m. Those who register early for the event online will receive an event t-shirt.

After the race, the City of Grover Beach will host an awards ceremony recognizing the first and second place racers for all age and gender categories. This unforgettable tradition is a great way to get active and connect with fellow participants.

The City is also hosting its Annual Carved Pumpkin Contest and Halloween Activities on October 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ramona Garden Park. Residents are encouraged to bring their carved or decorated pumpkins to the event for a chance to win fun prizes for every age category. Businesses can enter to win bragging rights, and children 6 years old and under can enter a separate contest for decorated pumpkins only.

“We’re excited to see everyone in their spooky, fun and creative costumes this Halloween,” said Grover Beach City Manager Matthew Bronson. “Halloween is such a great opportunity for the community to come out and celebrate the fall season, and I appreciate City staff’s hard work in putting together these wonderful events.”

Grover Beach residents can find more information about these and other future holiday events on the City’s website. Residents can also follow the City of Grover Beach on FacebookInstagramTwitter and Nextdoor for updates.
