The Grover Beach Police Department is celebrating the return to school with a free Back to School Movie Night under the stars on Friday, August 11 at Ramona Garden Park!
“We’re proud to have a Police Department that prioritizes bringing our community together,” said Grover Beach Mayor Karen Bright. “This fun, family-friendly event is the perfect way to do just that.”
The Back to School Movie Night will begin at 6 p.m., allowing attendees to connect with neighbors and local law enforcement before the screening of Disney’s Cars at 8 p.m. Since the event is outdoors, attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and low chairs for comfort, ensuring they have the best seat in the house for the movie. An adult must accompany all youth under the age of 18.
The City will provide attendees with complimentary snacks and beverages courtesy of Pepsi, Frito-Lay. There will also be food trucks on-site providing a variety of treats available for purchase.
In line with the City of Grover Beach's commitment to fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the community, the Back to School Movie Night will feature informative public safety displays for residents, especially the youth, to connect with officers.
“We are thrilled to host the Back to School Movie Night and further our ongoing efforts to advance the Department’s Strategic Plan goal of expanding community engagement,” said Grover Beach Police Chief John Peters. “Events like these are crucial in building positive connections and a safer and more harmonious community for all.”
One of the highlights of the event will be a raffle, where attendees under the age of 18 will have the chance to enter to win exciting prizes, including a brand-new bicycle, a backpack filled with essential school supplies or the option to be personally escorted to their first day of school by Police Chief John Peters.
Join the City to celebrate the spirit of community and embrace the joy of sharing a cinematic experience with our neighbors and friends!
