1. How do I report graffiti to have it removed?

The City will remove graffiti from walls or surfaces that are publicly visible on either private property or public property if the property owner is enrolled in the City of Grover Beach Graffiti Abatement Program. 2. How do I report a problem?

Please submit a Public Works Service Request form to publicworks@groverbeach.org or call Public Works at (805) 473-4530 to report a problem. 

3. When will my street be paved?

The City has a residential street paving program funded by Measure K-14 taxes. Please visit the Measure K-14 Residential Paving Program Page for more information about upcoming projects and which streets are in each project. 

4. How do I request a sidewalk?

The City has a Sidewalk In-Fill Public-Private Partnership program in conjunction with Measure K-14 projects where property owners agree to pay for one-half of the construction cost of new sidewalk fronting their property. The City pays for the design and one-half the construction cost of the new sidewalk. Funding for this program is limited and funds are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis during Measure the K-14 project design phase. Property owners looking to construct new sidewalk without participating in the Public-Private Partnership program can submit an encroachment permit application and hire the necessary professionals to design and construct the new sidewalk.

5. Who do I contact to report a pothole in a City street?

Please contact the Public Works Department to report a needed street repair by either calling the Department at (805) 473-4530, sending the Department an email at publicworks@groverbeach.org, or completing a Public Works Service Request form.

6. Who maintains trees in Grover Beach?

The Public Works Department maintains City-planted trees in improved Rights-of-Way along certain streets. All trees in un-improved Rights-of-Way are not maintained by Public Works and are the property owner’s responsibility to maintain. Trees located on private property are maintained by the property owner. No trimming or maintenance of a City-maintained tree can take place without prior written consent from the Director of Public Works. 7. How can I conserve water?

There are many ways that residents, home owner,s and business owners can conserve water. The City has several programs that provide a financial incentive for those looking to conserve. Please see the Water Conservation Programs  page for more information about water conservation.

8. Who is responsible for maintaining the sewer lateral serving my property?

Property owners are responsible for maintaining their sewer lateral from the City-owned mainline in the street to their building. Please see the Wastewater System page for more information about the wastewater system.

9. How do I obtain existing utility information for my project?

Please contact the Public Works Department at publicworks@groverbeach.org or (805) 473-4530 for existing utility information. Please see the Utility Operations page for more information. 

10. How do I obtain an encroachment permit?

Before you perform any construction or maintenance work in the public right of way, you must have a valid encroachment permit issued by the Public Works Department. Please visit the Encroachment Permit section of the City of Grover Beach website for further information.  Please note, this application is not complete until all required attachments are received.

11. How do I report a possible Municipal Code violation?

Code Violations are handled by Code Compliance .  To report a possible violation of the Grover Beach Municipal Code, please submit a Code Enforcement Complaint Form. For more information, please see: Code Compliance

12. Does the City provide sandbags for its citizens in the event of a major storm?

We no longer provide empty sandbags and sand at the sandbag fill station in advance of major storm events. You can submit a Public Works Service Request form at this link.

13. What are the hours of operation for trash pickup service in residential areas of the City?

Trash pickup may occur 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, contact the South County Sanitary Service at (805) 489-4246.

14. What items are to be placed in the recycling, green waste and garbage bins?
